Sonic Forces is being removed from the Samsung Galaxy Store, but don't worry: any players who have progress on this version of the game can download Sonic Forces from the Google Play store, and have their progress transferred across to this version of the game.
Important information
This process is only required if you have downloaded the game from the Samsung Galaxy Store. If you have a Samsung device but have downloaded the game from Google Play, no further action is required.
The best way to tell if you have a Samsung version of Sonic Forces is to follow the steps below:
- From the main menu, tap the cog icon at the top right to enter the settings menu, then select the support tab.
- At the bottom of the support tab, in the center between Game Version and Account ID, you'll see a number (highlighted in red below). If this number begins with 14, this means it's a Samsung Galaxy Store version of the game, and will need transferred using the steps below.
-
- If the number doesn't begin with 14 then your game is not the Samsung Galaxy Store version, so no further action needs taken on your part.
- For example, in the image below, the number begins with 11, so this player does not need to take any further action:
-
Transferring an account to Google Play
- Open the game and go to the main menu.
- Enter the settings menu by tapping the cog icon at the top right of the main menu, shown by the green arrow below:
- From the settings menu, tap the Account tab.
- On the Account tab, tap the red Connect button to begin the process of linking your account
- If you see a green Connected button instead of a red Connect button, this means your account is already linked to Google Play Games. You can ignore the rest of these steps and instead install Sonic Forces from Google Play. Your progress will be automatically restored once you load the Google Play version of the game.
- If you cannot see a green Connected or a red Connect button, then this means your account is underage and for legal reasons you will not be able to transfer it using this method. Please go to the section of this page titled “Underage user account transfer” for more help.

- After tapping the red Connect button, follow the steps provided. You will see one of two options:
- If your Sonic Forces account is not yet linked to a Google Play Games account, proceeding here will link your game progress to the Google Play Games account you select.
- If the Google Play Games account already has a Sonic Forces account linked to it, you will be shown a message informing you that you cannot register this Sonic Forces account to it because it already has an account linked.
- If your Sonic Forces account is not yet linked to a Google Play Games account, proceeding here will link your game progress to the Google Play Games account you select.
- Once complete, your Sonic Forces account will be linked to your Google Play Games account. You can now install Sonic Forces from Google Play and your progress will be automatically transferred.
